Google Earth To Create 3D Cities For Mobile Devices

Using new technology, Google Earth presents 45 degree aerial imagery for mobile map devices that builds on expansive ideas they’ve used since 2006. This new technology allows for textured renderings, 3D cityscapes, and buildings that take on distinct and unique characteristics to that particular city. By the end of the year, Google aims to have 3D coverage for metropolitan areas with a combined population of 300 million people.
