Drawers That Interact With One Another: Listen to Your Hands Desk by Lee Sanghyeok

Created as an exhibition for the Berlin International Design Festival DMY, Korean designer Lee Sanghyeok presented this unique desk project, titled “Listen to Your Hands.” Sanghyeok created the project around the idea of exploring our generally passive relationship with inanimate objects, like a desk, for example. Interacting with each drawer on the desk affects another part or drawer of the desk, forcing the user to “listen,” or maintain a closer, and more conscious dialogue of sorts between their interactions and their environment. You can check out a full video of the desk in action here.
