Gene Osaka Store Opening

The opening of Gene, represents a new option for high street offerings in Osaka’s fashion landscape. Owner Kazuhisa Shimazoe has curated a specialty list of brands including Japanese heavyweights GOODENOUGH, fragment design, Gallery 1950, retaW, and Balabushka Remnants. Also seen within the store space are two of the rarest KUWAHARA bikes ever created, with a retro model of the BMX bike from the Steven Spielberg classic film E.T. which Shimazoe claims is one-of-a-kind in this configuration. Alongside the Osaka-native bike company the retailer is responsible for the provision of other products from local creatives, like custom-made iPhone skins by Thinging. More information on Gene can be seen at the retailer’s blog.
