Contemporary Californian artist Barry McGee returns to the PRISM gallery in Los Angeles with a second showing since “MindTheGap” in 2009. Largely comprising work created at the gallery, the solo exhibition captures McGee’s unique graphic sensibilities with its striking geometry, strong tones and distinctive characters. Through a lively site-responsive installation, the gallery immerses the audience in a vivid space reflective of the urban chaos embodied in McGee’s art. This exhibition runs through to June 30, and precedes the much awaited Barry McGee Retrospective this August at the University of California Berkeley Art Museum.
