The Blind Barber - A Simple Idea
In the latest segment of HBTV, we were afforded the opportunity to sit down with Blind Barber
In the latest segment of HBTV, we were afforded the opportunity to sit down with Blind Barber co-founders Jeff and Adam, and heard them recant the tale of their two-year journey from business inception to present date. For those unaware, the Blind Barber is a 2-chair East Village barbershop that maintains a dimly lit, fully stocked, sliding door speakeasy in back. At the tender age of their mid-20s, Jeff and Adam traded in their day jobs to realize a shared lifelong dream of owning and operating their own business. Through the interview, the business cohorts retell how they met through an ex-girlfriend, and created a brand launching pad that has seen collaborations with the likes of Dockers and Marcus Troy. The duo goes on to talk about upcoming undertakings, which includes but is not limited to a Los Angeles annex currently manned by third principal, Josh Boyd. Jeff and Adam discuss the homegrown ethos of their business, and candidly clue us in to how they obtained an initial investment, and why they continue to be trade show fixtures. Press play for the parley, and commentary on how the haircut and grooming in general continues to play an increasing role in men’s sartorial selections.
