SIG ZANE for KICKS/HI x Vans Vault 2012 "MAUKA to MAKAI" Pack

Native Hawaiian design firm SIG ZANE was recently commissioned to help design a series of limited edition Vans shoes that culled inspiration from the authentic Hawaiian spirit. SIG responded with this “MAUKA to MAKAI” pack (“from the mountains to the sea”), containing the premium MAUKA Chukka Boot LX, and the premium MAKAI Era LX shoes. The ruggedly mountain-inspired MAUKA has an espresso brown suede and linen upper, and incorporates several signature pieces of SIG ZANE’s hand-cut artwork. The summery ocean-inspired MAKAI contrasts MAUKA, with its sky blue upper and white leather tongue and accents. It also features a unique mushroom coral print (a creature native to Hawaii) in the insole. This very limited Vans Vault pack will be available from KICKS/HI in both Honolulu and Guam, SIG ZANE Designs in Hilo, and Saint Alfred in Chicago during Merrie Monarch week starting on April 14.
