Set for a release on March 30 through German imprint Glitterhouse, The Journey Is Long is a posthumous collection of material from late Gun Club frontman Jeffrey Lee Pierce which is reinterpreted by friends, collaborators and fans. One the featured covers is “The Breaking Hands” by Nick Cave and Blondie’s Debbie Harry. The soothing piano ballad was recorded back in 1987 and certainly marks a great addition to the tracklist. Profits from The Journey Is Long will go to the Jeffrey Lee Pierce Foundation, offering instruments to underprivileged children in LA.
