Streetwear giant A Bathing Ape is introducing a new label into its fashion family. Taking the moniker Aape BY A BATHING APE, the range is set to slot in between the current A Bathing Ape and BAPE Kids range, hoping to attract the disposable income of the teenage market. The style and designs reflect a return to an older style BAPE, no more so than in the choice of logo. A lower price range has also been attached, with T-shirts starting at ¥3,990 JPY (approximately $48 USD) and parkas at ¥9,975 JPY (approximately $120 USD). In what is probably the biggest move from the brand since the takeover by I.T, it will be interesting to see in what direction this collection takes the company. The Aape BY A BATHING APE 2012 spring/summer collection will be available soon at BAPE stores worldwide.

Producer Jeremy Rose claims The Weeknd was his idea

Canadian producer Jeremy ‘Zodiac’ Rose claims that it was him that sparked the idea behind The Weeknd. In a conversation with VICE, Rose states that, initially, The Weeknd was a ‘dark R&B’ duo involving him and singer Abel Tesfaye with him also being essential to the early production and the project’s overall aesthetic. House of Balloons cuts “What You Need,” “Loft Music” and “The Morning” were crafted by Rose, but his name was soon scrubbed from the material.
