The cause of Whitney Houston’s tragic passing is subject to heavy speculation. Multiple reports circulated over the internet implying that the singer had died as a result of drowning in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. However, it could be weeks before investigators know exactly why she died. Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said that the officials will not release any information on an autopsy performed Sunday at the request of police detectives investigating the singer’s death. It is also suggested that the officials believe there is no suspicion of foul play involved in Houston’s death, without ruling out any causes of death until they have toxicology results, which will likely take weeks to obtain. According to TMZ, ‘family sources’ have said that Houston died as a result of an overdose of Xanax and other prescription drugs mixed with alcohol. Her body will be flown back to her hometown of Atlanta as early as later today to make preparations for her funeral.
