Holding down its Causeway Bay spot since 1999, Hong Kong’s 8FIVE2SHOP has been a mainstay for the city’s skate culture since day one. Since its inception, Brian Siswojo and his staff have played host to a handpicked curation of some of the most coveted skate brands over the course of the shop’s 12-year history. Giving nod to both the history and ever-expanding skateboarding culture within the Asia Pacific region, Vans recently joined 8FIVE2SHOP to create Hong Kong’s first ever indoor skatepark aptly titled “Sk85ive2.” The opening night not only featured sounds by DJ Ghost Style but also showcased a live demo by Vans x 8FIVE2SHOP riders. With plenty of drinks, food and waffle soles (literally) to go around, the duo augmented the night with an exclusive installation and exhibition of the Thrasher 30th Anniversary Photo Show.
