The Making of Series 7 by Arne Jacobsen

Feb 23, 2012  /  Design  /  2393 Views

Watch how the iconic and original Series 7 Chair designed by Arne Jacobsen is produced. This pressure-molded veneer chair is one of the most sold chairs in furniture history and is a further development of the famous Ant Chair which was designed by Arne in 1952. The Seven itself was useful in a variety of ways since it could have armrests, a swivel base with wheels, and a fixed pedestal for lecture halls, making it a “one stop shop” that catered to a variety of needs in an array of scenarios. The “making of” video from Fritz Hansen illustrates the time-consuming and breathtaking process behind one Series 7 Chair.
