Polls: Do You Think Jeremy Lin Will See Long-Term Success in the NBA?

Jeremy Lin has enjoyed a string of starts that has surpassed the likes of Shaquille O’Neal in terms of sheer production over a five-game stretch of starts, amassing 136 points to O’Neal’s 129. In the last six games, Lin is averaging 26.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 1.8 steals per game while shooting 51.7 percent from the field and adding a buzzer-beater to his already staggering resumé. Last night against the Kings, he reverted to more of a pure point guard role while shooting only six times, but still managing to dish out thirteen helpers (a career high). Even basketball minds who have been on the fence about Lin are starting to realize that there’s little “fluke” to his game. But it begs the question: Do you think Jeremy Lin will see long term success in the NBA?

Consider this, Lin has passed names like Jordan, O’Neal and Iverson, and all perennial Hall of Famers during this dizzying display of basketball prowess. Yes, we all need to slow down and understand that ebb and flow are part of professional sports and that longevity and string of luck have to be on one’s side. Despite all of the promise, and surely all of the pressures that now come along with being expected to perform, can he do it? Furthermore, can he do it for a long time?

Looking back to last week’s poll in which we asked pitted “Star Wars vs. Star Trek” the results showed Star Wars as the overwhelming majority holding 89.6% of the vote (1,882 votes) to come out on top.
