Nike NBA 2012 All-Star Game Footwear Releases

Taking inspiration from space exploration, the NBA 2012 All-Star Game releases feature a galactic theme on the LeBron 9, Nike Zoom KD IV and Nike Zoom Kobe VII System. Graphics pay homage to the supernova – arguably the most powerful force in the universe – while the outsoles glow in the dark and individual ‘mission patches’ adorn each shoe as a nod to the accolades astronauts receive. LeBron James, whose home state of Ohio features more astronauts than any other state, will wear a special version of the LeBron 9 that takes inspiration from the orange space suit. Durant’s colorway is silver and takes inspiration from the silver suit of a notable Oklahoma astronaut, while his mission patch pays tribute to his reign as “H.O.R.S.E.” champion. The Nike Zoom Kobe VII System includes the Attack Fast insert that features a Phylon midsole with Nike Zoom units in the forefoot and heel for the ultimate in lightweight responsiveness. The upper’s color boasts telescopic-inspired imagery as well as a Black Mamba mission patch on the heel. All three editions will be available at select retailers and at beginning February 25.
