The Air Jordan XX8 Takes Flight

Jordan Brand has just unveiled the Air Jordan XX8, touted as including more technological advances than any model to date. True to its name, this 28th release for the franchise features the Jordan Flight Plate, which is a Pebax® moderator plate that fully unlocks the power of the Zoom bags inside. Other performance features include Dynamic Fit technology that combines internal straps with the laces for lightweight support and comfort. The streamlined black upper is made of a stretch-synthetic material that incorporates Schoeller mesh – a Swiss fabric used in premium motorcycling jackets – while the molded external heel counter is made of strong yet lightweight carbon fiber.
The shoe was developed by designer Tinker Hatfield, Vice President of Special Projects/Design for Nike, and Jordan Brand Developer Josh Heard together with Michael Jordan himself. Touted as the sport shoe world’s answer to the concept car in terms of incorporating innovative new technologies, the shoe was designed to appear and perform ‘stealthily.’
The shoe’s release is slated for February 16, and will carry a suggested retail price of $250.
