It looks like Mumford & Sons may be the next musical outfit to integrate some electronic flair into their music. The esteemed folk rockers have long created a trademark sound that’s allowed them to enjoy huge success over the years, more recently their sophomore album which reached number one on charts, Babel. However, in a recent interview with Style Magazine, lead singer Marcus Mumford revealed that the band planned on making some adjustments on their third album and considering an “electronic direction.”
“We’ve always done what feels good, rather than what we’ve thought long and hard about, and we’ll do whatever feels soulful next, whether that’s with an electric guitar or a synthesizer.”
“It’s dangerous for us to talk about what we’ve been discussing for the third album, but we do have greater ambitions not to just stay within certain sonic confines,” added Ben Lovett. “We’re not going to be the band that stands for folk music or organic music.”
