For Fall/Winter 2012, Hong Kong-based street label CLOT has become decidedly entranced with a design theme that centers around the concept of “Tribesmen.” While CLOT holds a strong apparel and accessories segment, co-founders Edison Chen and Kevin Poon have long relied on coveted collaboration projects to fill their footwear allocation for each consecutive season. Holiday 2012 sees the brand aligning its seasonal ethos with Vans for a special capsule collection.
Featuring a combination of four unique Vans Era and Classic Slip-On iterations, the overall aesthetic pulls chromatic and compositional elements from the CLOT Tribesman range via hits of colorful embroidery and knit motifs. With each Era mockup treated in a weathered canvas upper, the perimeter of each shoe receives a tonal vulcanized midsole and is rounded out with contrasting pure white laces. The Tribesman influences become most apparent across the toe box of the Classic Slip-On as an intricately woven panel is emblazoned across the entirety of the shoe.
The CLOT x Vans 2012 Holiday Collection will be offered for an early bird special exclusively through CLOT’s retail outlet JUICE from December 7 through December 13. Early bird pre-purchasers of the shoes will receive an invitation to attend the launch party on December 14 at JUICE Hong Kong in Causeway Bay from 7-10 p.m. to have an early Christmas party with the founders of CLOT, Edison Chen and Kevin Poon. A full-scale regional release will hit on December 21 through the remaining JUICE locations. Additionally, Edison Chen, Kevin Poon, and the entire CLOT family will be hosting a special launch event for the collection on December 14 at JUICE Hong Kong in Causeway Bay.
