With the popularity of SSUR The Cut’s “COMME” collection now firmly solidified as a household idiom, it was only a matter of time until the flipped motif was reappropriated into a new colorway. For Holiday 2012, Hong Kong-based label CLOT has aligned itself with SSUR’s The Cut line for a limited edition, Christmas-inspired “COMME des FUCKDOWN*” capsule collection.
Employing the decidedly tongue-in-cheek motif in recognizable bold white typeface hits, red is the predominant hue used across a range of hats, beanies, hoodies, coach’s jackets and T-shirts. A nod to the traditional Christmas colors — and perhaps an indirect link to a color favorite of the Hong Kong label — the CLOT x SSUR collection makes use of the same black and white “COMME” releases we’ve seen in the past, just with an updated colorway. The entire collection will be made available from CLOT’s retail brick & mortar shops, JUICE, as well as the JUICE online store beginning December 14.
