Contemporary label Osklen hails from Brazil, the land of beaches and endless summers.  For Fall/Winter 2012 however, the brand’s “Into the Mountains” collection turned to the decidedly chillier climes of Aspen as the source of its inspiration. Melding an array of shearling, fleece, snowflake motifs and colorblocking into contemporary silhouettes — hooded vests and sweaters, turtlenecks and crewneck knits most notable among them – Oskar Metsavaht’s collection evoked images of modern holiday attire while Patagonia-referencing kept things closer to Osklen’s sunny roots. As the label makes the move towards a greater American presence, look for domestic availability and more information on this contemporary label soon.
