Nike Zoom Rookie LWP “Matte Red”

Making its debut last year with releases that included “Binary Blue” and “Glow in the Dark” editions, Penny Hardaway’s Nike Zoom Rookie LWP returns for Fall/Winter 2012 in a new “Matte Red” colorway. Inspired by past Penny-popularized silhouettes like the Air Flight One, Air Up and Air GO LWP, this particular version of the Nike Sportswear hybrid is reminiscent of the player-exclusive “Memphis Express” that Hardaway donned for last fall’s Tournament of the Stars Basketball Classic in Louisiana. Pairing a red Foamposite shell with matching pods, a nubuck eyestay, and a mesh tongue, the release features Nike‘s Zoom cushioning alongside an icy rubber outsole and minimal black accents. Retailing for $200 USD, the “Matte Red” Nike Zoom Rookie LWP is now available from Kith NYC‘s Manhattan and Brooklyn storefronts.
