Luxury Japanese label Matsuda Eyewear launches its new global website alongside this charmingly understated campaign video. The website and video both reflect the brand’s sleek, minimalist aesthetics–presenting a vision of the painstakingly handcrafted frame styles that originate from the artisanal eyewear workshops of Japan. Fans and frame aficionados now have easy online access to the troves of Matsuda creations previously remote–nearly half a century of rich design history and heritage. This campaign video stems from a partnership between CEO James Kisgen and Los Angeles-based director Chris Greco. “Matsuda has always had close ties to the arts. It was important for us to do something that was unique and conceptual, rather than what is typically seen in eyewear lifestyle videos.”
