Proving that chefs’ attire can be as contemporary and tasteful as modern cuisine, Ampal Creative and Ilan Hall‘s The Gorbals have partnered to serve up the ultimate chef’s hat. Over meals at The Gorbal’s kitchen counter, Top Chef Season 2 winner, Hall, and Ampal Creative conceived of a hat that would be both functional and aesthetically-pleasing. The result was a 100% cotton canvas hat with elastic slots for meat thermometers and Sharpies, while an industrial vinyl brim and special vinyl-backed diamond-knit sweatband provide easy cleaning and sweat absorption. In The Gorbals’ signature hue of black, each piece is made in Los Angeles from locally-sourced materials.
