The 2012 Lacoste Holiday Collector’s Series presents the beloved iconic crocodile in a whole new light–and shape. Series # 7 features the collaborative imagination of the Campana Brothers in a reworking of the classic Lacoste polo. Fernando and Humberto Campana are noted Brazilian designers controversially known for their unusual use of ordinary material–including waste–in furniture design. In 2003, while exploring new forms of upholstery, the Campanas discovered a technique of rolling together different types of materials which they aptly dubbed “Sushi.” The resulting collection of chairs, sofas, tables, puffs, buffets, and other things was a celebration of the Japanese rice roll’s appearance in its arrangement of color and texture, as the Lacoste Holiday Collector’s Series #7 appears to be now–croc sushi style.
