The typography and letter forms found in New York City — unique signage, vernacular typography, and hand-painted lettering — all blend together to create a cohesive narrative from NYC Type. In conjunction with the launch of their website, the celebratory announcement comes in the form of a teaser video that showcases the various graphic forms seen throughout the concrete sprawl. NYC Type seeks to create a living, unified history of the city – one that changes daily – growing layer by layer, letter by letter.
