Coinciding with the release of the 200-image hardcover book Hello Kitty, Hello Art!, a gallery show of the same name will occur at Known Gallery in Los Angeles that pays homage to all things Sanrio. Featuring artwork crafted using a variety of mediums including canvas, spray paint, watercolor and ink, aerosol and acrylic on wood, mixed media, oil on panel, and silkscreen – the result is a visual homage to characters like Hello Kitty, My Melody, Keroppi, Badtz-Maru, Little Twin Stars and more. The event will feature over 30 new paintings by graffiti artist POSE, custom chandeliers by Adam Wallacavage, a neon installation by RISK, and new works by 64 Colors, AIKO, Caia Koopman, DABS MYLA, Kenton Parker, Niagara, Shepard Fairey and Simone Legno – all incorporating a rainbow of Sanrio characters. The pop-up gallery will take place on October 14 from 1-6 p.m. PST. In addition to the event, select limited edition prints and T-shirts from The Seventh Letter will be available for purchase.
