Known better as Mike Giant, Michael LeSage is an icon in the tattoo and graffiti worlds. Born colorblind and shortsighted, the artist’s remarkable career has also encompassed graphic design, photography and drawing while establishing a single, unmistakable aesthetic. Giant’s clean line-work — almost always in black — is influenced by both Mexican folk art and Japanese illustration, as well as a background in architectural drawing, and has made him one of the most celebrated contemporary artists working today. LeSage’s newly-released book Giant: Eternal, will contain pages of his perfectly executed tattoos, along with photos, graffiti and drawings, while also displaying the breadth of influences — Buddhism and world travels, among them — that have informed his illustrious work. The book is available for pre-order now at Amazon.
