Following a year of speculation, the studio version of Adele’s theme song for the latest James Bond movie, Skyfall, arrived Thursday night with a lyric video. The song was released in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the first James Bond film, Dr. No, which premiered on October 5, 1962. The brassy and soulful song was recorded with a 77-piece orchestra at London’s Abbey Road studios. Stream the tune above and see if it is a worthy successor of timeless James Bond anthems, like “Goldfinger” or “Diamonds Are Forever.”
