Louis Vuitton: Marc Jacobs' Encounter with Yayoi Kusama

Something went wrong. Maybe the video source is incorrect.

Yayoi Kusama is a Japanese filmmaker, painter, sculptor, designer, poet, writer, and altogether amazing artist known for her fixative exploration of pattern and repetition. Watch as Marc Jacobs talks about having the opportunity to have Kusama be a part of Louis Vuitton’s ambitions to bring her work to yet another outlet, where surely those able to get their hands on the products will simply be dazzled. The 82-year-old Kusama has worked with Jacobs in the past, creating leather goods and ready-to-wear accessories which were popular, especially in the buoyant Japanese market. The new line will preview at Louis Vuitton stores in July 2012, and Kusama will also design the installation art in the shop windows which will accompany the products.
