Stella Le Page – Wastin Time (The Shoes Cover)
Welcome back to our latest edition of our weekly series Hypetrak Selects, which presents you the three top music submissions that reached us during the past seven days. Let’s start with Stella Le Page. Do not get it twisted. Le Page is not a newcomer. The 25-year-old artist from London has quite a musical resume as she is officially labeled singer and songwriter, while also having skills on the cello and piano/keyboard. After being a former synth player for Primary 1 and Cellist for Plan B, Stella decided to make a career of her own and started to deliver impressive covers from Beach House to James Blake or Metronomy. Below you can check out her latest rendition, a cover of The Shoes’ “Wastin Time.” (Facebook, Twitter)
Pugs Atomz – Our Dillema (Freestyle)
Not a newcomer neither, as Pugz Atoms has been paying his dues in this demanding music industry. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he is the son of an ex-Panther turned radio host and a painter. His love of hip-hop developed when his family moved to Chicago where influences like ”Signifying Monkey” and various other poets/visual artists, as well as JP Chill and Pink House’s rap shows on WHPK and WKKC molded his sense of culture. Accordingly, Pugs has been leaving his mark within the Chi-Town scene by delivering thought-provoking rhymes, releasing a compilation album, hosting a TV show, and touring with DJ Vadim. Now his homage to J Dilla and the Slum Village has hit the web and highlights yet again his sense of lyricism and dedication to hip-hop. (Facebook, SoundCloud, Twitter, Tumblr)
Burial – Archangel (CRKDBULLET Remix)
London-based beatsmith Kwadwo Kankam, aka CRKDBULLET, sent over this intriguing rendition of Burial’s track “Archangel.” Unfortunately there is not much information on CRKDBULLET available but we certainly hope that we will hear more tunes from him in the future. Be on the lookout. (SoundCloud, Twitter, MySpace)
