IGIRIS x Under Armour Charge RC Preview

Building on the inspirations from London 2012, Under Armour has developed its latest footwear project alongside Japanese art studio, IGIRIS. Headed by artist, Kentaro Kobuke, Under Armour tapped the multi-faceted creative collective to curate a special run of only 50-pairs-per-color Charge RC footwear model. Inspired by the Hare of Inaba fable, the two colorways cull their aesthetics from both of the fable’s characters: The White Hare and The Blue Shark. In addition to limiting both styles to a total of only 100 units, Under Armour also enlisted the help of a Portland artist to craft a special wooden box to house 20 of the 100 pairs. From the custom box made from reclaimed high school wood to the inherent DNA of the artwork and shoe construction, the project builds each of its pillars upon the foundation of rejuvenation, rebirth, and rebuilding — ideals that have been quite characteristic of 2012 thus far. Released alongside equally as covetable T-shirts that align with the artwork of the shoes, expect further glimpses of the IGIRIS x Under Armour to be revealed shortly.
