Taking street vending to another plateau, Del Popolo is a mobile pizzeria housed in a 20-foot transatlantic shipping container that’s been re-purposed and fitted to a heavy-duty delivery truck. Working with four designers and a budget of $180,000 USD, owner Jon Darsky built a small pizzeria that consists of two large prep stations, an interior exposing wall of glass, and a traditional Italian-made wood burning oven in a used shipping container. The large oven, which can reach temperatures of 800 degrees, provides enough heat to cook a Neapolitan style pizza in about one minute. Information on where to find Del Popolo next can be found on Twitter.
