Glass and ceramic component maker Corning has just introduced a revolutionary new substrate they are calling “Willow Glass.” This new glass can be produced in sheets as thin as a single sheet of paper. Corning believes it boasts near-limitless potential in wrapping around radical new interactive touchscreen devices, and on a large-scale, in dynamic (possibly undulating?) high-definition digital display units. And who knows — while the glass opens up a myriad of potential uses in the tech industry, those could someday be eclipsed by other uses in highly advanced, technical fashion. The glass’ supreme lightness and flexibility creates unique potential for even wearable display screens — perhaps the advanced outerwear engineers at ACRONYM might be up to the task?
