It is no secret that the Steve Jobs legacy was, is and likely will forever be, one of the most revered to come out of Silicon Valley. For all of Jobs’ inventions, patents and successful (albeit sometimes criticized) business protocol, his early years and road to success are as enthralling as the devices to which Jobs’ name and his brainchild Apple are associated with. So this past week when news broke in regards to the, as some would argue, highly unlikely casting of Ashton Kutcher has the late Steve Jobs, the interweb went wild with discourse. As a result of his notoriety developing from television shows such as That ’70s Show and Punk’d, it comes as no surprise that Kutcher is mainly defined as a comedic genre actor. To be honest, the comparison was largely never drawn between Kutcher and Jobs before the news broke of the casting. But, in light recent events, the association is actually fairly believable as the two feature similar facial features. Typecast as he may be, numerous actors his senior have successfully broken preconceived molds of “who” they are in Hollywood — but, the question is, can Ashton Kutcher do it? Will Ashton Kutcher portray a good Steve Jobs?
