This past weekend marked the Liberatum Hong Kong International Festival of Culture. The event, which brought together an amalgam of creative minds from all across the world, set its sights on cultivating discussion and conversation surrounding creativity as it pertains to the realms of film, music, photography, art, architecture, fashion, literature and design. Within the midst of a two-story exhibition that showcased the photography works of Wing Shya, Mike Figgis, and Earl Wan as well as fashion exhibitions from Six Lee, and an eyewear display from Carrera, the event was keystoned by a series of panel discussions and lectures spanning topics such as film, music, politics, science and culture. Pharrell Williams was among the many contributors and experts that were invited to shed light on their respective spheres of expertise in addition to the likes of Khalil Fong, Daniel Wu, William Orbit and Sir VS Naipaul. One of the notable installations on display was an expansive canvas by Peter Macapia that was housed with its own appropriated gallery within the Lane Crawford-hosted space.
