In Mike D’s big debut as “art curator,” the Beastie Boys star successfully delivers the second installment of Transmission LA: AV Club at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA. The 17-day festival sponsored by Mercedes-Benz comprises concerts, performances and installations by 17 artists across disciplines — proudly hosting the works of Benjamin Jones, Mike Mills, Tom Sachs, Lauren Mackler of Public Fiction, Sage Vaughn, Isaac of Still House Group, Peter Coffin, Roy Choi and Will Fowler. Not to be outdone are exciting live acts by Santigold, DJ Tito Cruz, Mike D himself, JJAMZ, and a host of popular DJs including favorites from Stones Throw Records — Peanut Butter Wolf, Dam-Funk, J.Rocc and Jonti. Music begins around 7:30 p.m. nightly and admission is free while capacity permits. Check the updated music schedule or event page for more details.
