Three Way House by Naf Architect & Design

Japanese practice Naf Architect & Design, composed of thought leaders Tetsuya Nakazono and Akio Nakasa, have unveiled images of their Three Way House in Tokyo, Japan. The two-story, single family home is situated in a district that blends both new and old designs, and proudly boasts a climbing wall in the central courtyard. The freestanding wood structure looks rather unassuming from the exterior but once inside it’s clear to see how spacious and unique the home truly is. Treating the generous rooftop as an additional room, a two-meter-high parapet circumscribes the terrace for both safety as well as to meet the local height regulation of 7 meters. Finally, as a space saving measure, several ladders have been employed as opposed to sets of bulky stairs.
