Contrary to previous assumption, Lamborghini has confirmed the Aventador J Roadster will indeed be for sale. This roadster began its life on the show floor as a conceptual convertible, even racier version than that of Lamborghini’s flagship Aventador. The all-wheel-drive J is powered by the same 700-hp 6.5-liter 12-cylinder as the standard Aventador, and is capable of speeds up to 300 kph (186 mph). Designed like a two-seat sport motorcycle, the J excludes anything not needed in attaining pure speed — like certain cockpit amenities along with the roof and windshield. And to lower the car’s overall weight and to increase downforce, Lamborghini engineers are using a pliable new carbon fiber fabric called ‘Carbonskin’ on the interior trim, in the bumpers, the front air scoop, and in the rear diffuser. It’s probably worth mentioning that only one Aventador J Roadster was made, and only one will be sold. With such extreme limited availability, we estimate the J will cost a bit more than the $380,000 asking price of the standard Aventador. Don’t everyone line up at once.
