Celebrating the debut of its Hong Kong flagship store opening, G-Star RAW opened the doors to its 680-square-meter build-out in Leighton Centre last night for a special grand opening event. Representing G-Star’s largest flagship store to date, the expansive two-floor retail space is further augmented with the inclusion of a floor to ceiling LCD wall as well as a custom-designed dressing area. The flagship’s monumental outer facade beckons patrons in by way of a heavily industrialized, Corton steel sheeting exterior casing that soars six stories high – a component of the event that played stage to the night’s opening festivities. Paying homage to G-Star’s beginnings and the label’s continued focus, the interior setup for the event was home to a range of custom-designed RAW denim fixtures and G-Star RAW plush toys. Quite a keystone event in the Dutch design company’s history, the Hong Kong flagship grand opening also saw a guest list of some of the city’s most notable and recognized tastemakers, artists and designers.
