With all the talk of mastermind JAPAN calling it quits next year, it’s easy to forget that they still have three more seasons to release before their departure. Today we can bring you a look at the latest offering, the mastermind JAPAN 2012 spring/summer “identity” collection. Known for thoroughly embracing black within his work, this season Masaaki Honma has thrown in a vibrant red that really stands out against the usual monotone palette. It wouldn’t be mastermind JAPAN if the famous skull motif wasn’t liberally applied, with stitched, printed, metal, Swarovski crystal and acrylic versions used throughout the run. On the horizon are two more shoe collaborations with fellow Japanese brand visvim. This time around, a special version of the 7 HOLE ’73-FOLK boot will release alongside a new espadrille model.
