Italian car manufacturer Maserati rolls out its first foray into the SUV market, dubbing the creation the Kubang. Over a melodramatic song selection, this video chronicles Maserati’s storied racing past, thanks to archival footage of open-wheel-fire-breathers sliding over cobblestone, before we get a CGI look at the Kubang concept. It will be built on the same Michigan assembly line as the Jeep Grand Cherokee, but the engine manufacturing will be handled in Italy by Paolo Martinelli, who has over thirty years worth of experience at Ferrari. Other speculative bits point to an eight-speed automatic transmission and Modena-engineered performance breaks, suspension and steering. Are you team Porsche Cayenne or team Maserati Kubang?
