As the official 20th anniversary of U2’s timeless Achtung Baby approaches, more details on the announced deluxe reissue of the LP arrive. According to the band’s website, the anniversary will contain a massive boxset available in five different packages – ranging from the album itself to some “Uber Deluxe Edition” featuring all kinds of bonus material.
The “Uber Deluxe Edition” contains six CDs including the original Achtung Baby album, the follow-up album Zooropa, B-sides, remixes and reworkings of previously unheard material recorded during the Achtung Baby sessions. Four DVDs including From the Sky Down, Zoo TV: Live From Sydney, all the videos from Achtung Baby, plus bonus material.
From the Sky Down is a new documentary about the album, which was directed by Davis Guggenheim. It shows the band returning to Berlin’s Hansa Studio, where they recorded the LP. The film will open the Toronto International Film Festival on September 8 whereas the Achtung Baby anniversary edition is due October 31 from Universal. For more information and pre-orders, go here.
