Flexing its design muscles outside the realm of luxury automobiles, German automaker Audi aligns with Portland-based Renovo to create a line of bicycles. Renovo’s claim to fame is their high-end hardwood bicycle frames which enjoy greater weight reduction, stiffness and durability relative to their aluminum counterparts. The co-branded capsule will encompass three models: the duoCity, duoSport and duoRoad. The duoCity and duoSport feature internal-gear belt-driven hubs while the duoRoad features a SRAM Red derailleur. The bikes are each assembled and produced by hand and reflected in their costs which range from $6,530 USD for the duoCity, and up to $7,460 USD for the duoRoad.
