Europe’s largest internet convention, LeWeb, opened its doors yesterday, highlighted by a keynote interview with fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld where he discussed his daily use of technology and how it enhances his work. As Lagerfeld displayed to his captive audience how he uses various Apple products, including multiple iPads to sketch his latest ideas, the real news yesterday came from NET-A-PORTER founder Natalie Massenet. In conjunction with the online retailer, Lagerfeld will launch a newly affordable online fashion brand, aptly named Karl. With price points starting as low as £150 GBP (approximately $235 USD) for a jacket, Karl will be the first brand to ever release exclusively online. With email updates available here, the site launches January 25th, offering enough time to stack some cash after the holidays.
