Ai Weiwei “12 Gold Zodiac Heads” Exhibition @ Paul Kasmin Gallery

The recently opened secondary extension of the Paul Kasmin Gallery will play host to an inaugural exhibition of Ai Weiwei’s bronze sculptures Circle of Animals/Zodiac Heads: Gold (2010). In conjunction with the release of the similarly titled book launch, the exhibition features 12 animal heads, each a depiction of a segment of the ancient Chinese zodiac. The bronze animal heads represent an exploration of cultural heritage and a fascination surrounding the perceptions of “fake” and “original.” The Circle of Animals/Zodiac Heads: Gold (2010) will be on display through December 23.
