It’s not been a great week for Odd Future in the PR department, fresh off getting dropped from New Zealand’s Big Day Out festival after gay rights activists lobbied the groups attendance in Auckland for their apparent ‘homophobic lyrics.’ OFWGKTA member Vyron “Left Brain” Turner now faces misdemeanor charges of simple battery for allegedly striking photographer Amy Harris, and knocking the lens cap off her camera as she tried to shoot the group’s performance at the Voodoo Festival in New Orleans last week. The offence could see Left Brain face a fine of up to $1,000 and up to six months in jail. The group have strenuously denied that Turner hit anyone that day. Even though the photographer had initially not wanted to press charges, in a statement posted on her website, Harris said “the unexpected turn of events, including an attack by Odd Future on my credibility and motives for discussing the incident, have caused me to re-evaluate my initial decision”.
