Earlier this year, news broke that an intriguing new hip-hop crossover project would emerge from NYC-based indie pop outfit the Cults. Today we have a glimpse of that mixtape, and it involves the rhyming skills of Gary, Indiana’s own Freddie Gibbs. The two linked up recently at a music festival earlier this year and as they say, “The rest is history.” You’ll notice some subtle differences than the original, as the band rerecorded their vocals to blend with Freddie’s verses, which in the end came out seamless and amazing. Cults are also planning an upcoming tour this January, stay tuned.
