Engaging the culture of humans rights in Myanmar, Shepherd Fairey inspired this documentary exploring the parallel between street art and free speech. The phrase “Art As A Weapon” refers to the struggle in Burma between Buddhist values and political oppression. This theme is investigated by Fairey – founder of subversive label OBEY, who has created a large-scale illustrated mural of a Burmese monk in an attempt to draw attention to this contentious issue. Visit the hompage for the Art Is A Weapon movement here as well as contribute to their Kick Starter movement.
