The Lytro Light Field Camera is an amazing new piece of technology that has recently been made available to consumers. The camera makes use of light fields to capture the color, intensity and direction of all the light in every image you take. This allows you to refocus the photo any way you like, after the shot has been taken. Along with focusing after the fact, the camera will consequently have no auto-focus motor and no shutter delay. The technology was first used about fifteen years ago at Stanford University, but thanks to Lytro the innovative feature is now seen in a consumer camera, perhaps as just a start to further light field advancement in photography. The Lytro Light Field Camera is priced between $399-$499 USD and is available here.
