George Condo "Metal States" Exhibition @ Hayward Gallery

Hayward Gallery is pleased to announce its latest exhibition, a retrospective look of the American artist George Condo. Condo has been known for his contemporary art pieces since the 1980s and has since taken his works all over the world. This specific exhibition premiered at New Museum (New York) in January and has since traveled to Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam. The Hayward Gallery will feature over 80 works, including his ‘imaginary portraits,’ which conjure varied mental states with a mixture of absurdity and pathos. Other pieces include portraits of historical subjects such as Jesus, Queen Elizabeth II and more. The highly anticipated show will open October 18, running through January 8, 2012.
