Yatzer reports on the grand opening of the 2011 Meet Design Show in Rome, Italy. The exhibition is dedicated to Italian design dating from 1948 to present day. The show was planned by the RCS Group to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Italy’s unity, with the grand opening taking place at the Mercati di Traino-Museum. Types of work incorporated into the show include a vast collection of design objects from lamps, chairs and armchairs, cutlery, mirrors and sanitary ware. Yatzer observed that the show is setup in a way where similar pieces are grouped together and in chronological order so that viewers can see moments of technological change. The show is a testament to a country undoubtedly bursting with history and thriving in creative arts. The first part of the Meet Design Show will be in Rome from September 16 to October 13, then will move to Turin from November 5 to January 25, 2012. For more information on the show, visit here.
