Affinity Chair by Ben Alun-Jones

Jan 27, 2011  /  Design  /  76 Views

Invisibility has long been a desired trait amongst superhuman powers. For industrial designer Ben Alun-Jones, the goal of creating something that offered the appearance of sitting on thin air went hand in hand with the concept of invisibility. The Affinity Chair looks to achieve this by camouflaging itself amongst its environment and surroundings via the use of LEDs, mirror film and acrylic. The Affinity Chair will be presented at the Royal College of Art Interim Show until Monday, Febr. 7 followed by a showing at V&A Connects with… ARTS THREAD and at the V&A Digital Festival.
